Exterior
The 2019 Subaru Outback all-wheel drive crossover surprises with its non-standard appearance and modernized characteristics. The new model, if you look closely at the photo, has an even more expensive interior, and the price is justified by the appearance of new equipment. The appearance of the new car is completely different from its predecessor, but most of the performance characteristics have still migrated from the previous generation.
Main appearance changes:
- The restyled version of the Subaru Outback 2019 received a stylish design with a strong hint of dynamism. This effect was achieved with the help of a low-set and wide hood. The pronounced slope of the windshield enhances the feeling. The combined headlight unit with the radiator grille adds aggressiveness.
- On the front part you can see many chrome elements. Thus, the wide hexagonal radiator grille received a shiny edging and a wide crossbar in the center with a round label placed on it.
- Large LED headlights with adaptive beams add the missing aggressiveness. According to the designers, such optics allow light to be refracted when turning, increasing visibility at night. However, this function is available only for advanced configurations. The base headlights are xenon.
- The body kit is a complex structure. An additional round air intake with protection at the bottom is located in the center. The side elements look original. Large recesses were able to accommodate absolutely round fog lights.
- The side part pleases with the changes. The aerodynamic contour is reinforced by compact roof rails. Three-section glass is separated by thin dark pillars that do not obscure visibility. Along with the windows, the configuration of the doors and wheels has also changed. Reverse mirrors are equipped with electric drive. The stamping relief is visible on the wheel arches and door handles.
- The rear end is typical of urban crossovers. A premium note is set by a spoiler visor above the fifth door window, a corporate logo, and a stamped place for a license plate. Quite large optics extend onto the tailgate. LED filling allows you to create headlight-style lights.
- The metal body kit with recesses for running lights once again hints at the powerful driving characteristics of the new car. The body ends with neat exhaust pipes, which are almost invisible from under the bottom.
The manufacturer assures that the updated version will feature improved cabin sound insulation and improved driving performance, which are obtained by reconfiguring the electric power steering and adjusted suspension.
Design
Externally, the 2019 Subaru Outback is in many ways reminiscent of station wagons from other automakers. At the same time, the Japanese model stands out from potential competitors due to its increased ground clearance and reinforced bumpers. In the front part of the body, attention is drawn to the embossed hood, wide radiator grille with chrome trim and fairly narrow head optics. The rear of the car is made in the traditional style of modern station wagons with a protruding spoiler, large headlights and a large bumper. The central part of the cabin is occupied by a block that combines a large (up to 8.5 inches for expensive versions of the car) multimedia system screen and several physical control keys for built-in electronics. Unlike other premium cars, the dashboard of the Subaru Outback 2019 is made in analogue form with standard dials and a color display of the on-board computer. The front seats of the station wagon have a sporty design with pronounced lateral support. Between the first and second rows of seats there is enough space for three adult passengers to sit comfortably.
Safety
The manufacturer has equipped the car with a decent number of sensors and intelligent systems:
- cruise control with intelligent adaptation system and memory functions;
- pre-braking;
- lane departure warning;
- lane keeping assistance.
Each variant comes with numerous standard safety features, including front and side airbags. Electronic traction and stability control is also standard, complemented by X-Mode hill descent and hill control. Available features that complement the standard EyeSight driver assistance system include reverse automatic braking, blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert with lane change assist.
