Anime plot
Once upon a time, a famous professor, to help his blinding writer wife, created a humanoid machine, the so-called auto-memory doll. Such dolls became widespread, and soon this became the name for postal employees who help people express their feelings by finding the right words and turning them into letters. The girl Violet, who lost both her arms in the war, admires the work of auto-memory dolls. More than anything, she wants to become one of them, to learn to understand emotions and learn the meaning of words once spoken to her.

Major Gilbert Bougainvillea
Gilbert is an army officer, a major in the Leidenschaftlich army. The man was born into a wealthy family; he also has an older brother, Dietfried Bougainvillea. The brother was the one who gave Violet to Gilbert to become his weapon.
Gilbert is a 29-year-old tall man with dark hair and emerald green eyes. He has a hard look and a tense face. The man is handsome with a strong build and broad shoulders. He is a former army officer and founder of the CH Postal Company. Major Gilbert was a good friend of Claudia. Gilbert and Claudia studied at the military academy together. The major entrusted Violet to Claudia, and after the end of the war he began to take care of her. It is worth noting that Claudia misses her friend and is acutely worried that Gilbert is no longer with him.
Violet Evergarden and Gilbert
A couple of years later, Claudia receives a letter with suspiciously familiar handwriting. Claudia Hodgins suspects that this is Major Gilbert’s handwriting and decides to go to the sender with Violet. Hodgins was indeed right. and the Sender was Gilbert, who survived his serous wounds. The man was not the same as his loved ones remembered; he lost an eye and one arm.
The man at first did not want to meet with them and admit that he was really Major Gilbert. He deeply regrets using Violet as a weapon and putting her life in danger. The major feels guilty, so he doesn’t want to see her. Violet suffers greatly because of this, but she is unable to force the major to meet and decides to write a final letter to the man (she previously wrote letters to the major, even though he was considered dead).
Before leaving the island, Gilbert receives the last letter from Violet and at the same time encounters Dietfried, who accuses him of never visiting Leidenschaftlich. Diphthritis took the death of his brother very hard, missed him and could not forget about him. When the major read the letter from Violet, he hurries to the ship that has already sailed. Violet seeing this, she jumps into the sea and swims to the shore. On the shore, Gilbert confesses to Violet that he still loves her very much.
The girl is very happy that the feelings are mutual and soon quits the postal company, moving to work as a postman on the island with Gilbert.
