What changed

The cosmetics for the Lesnik are light: the bumpers, radiator grille and front optics have been retouched. At the driver assistance system EyeSight The capabilities have expanded: Forester recognizes more objects, the monitoring area is wider, and it has learned to avoid obstacles. It’s great, but the snowfall, coupled with the snow-covered markings, made all the cameras helpless – and EyeSight still doesn’t have radars.

Forester’s devices are physical, no options. They read well.

Above the visor of the upper monitor is a panel with a “red eye” of the DMS system, which understands gestures and monitors the driver’s condition.

The interior remains the same.A screen with a diagonal of only eight inches on a car that costs about four million looks strange, although the picture itself is clear.

The snow/mud and deep snow modes are only activated up to 40 km/h.

Vehicle interior

The interior of the Forester-V crossover is somewhat conservative, but it does not seem archaic and is designed quite modernly.

Salon at night

Only the buttons for two-stage heated seats, located on the center console, look old-fashioned, and it seems that they migrated to this car from the nineties.

To characterize the interior of this car, you need to list its main distinctive features:

  • the instrument cluster is analogue, with traditional round wells for the tachometer and speedometer;
  • steering wheel – small, sporty, multifunctional and with leather trim already in the basic version;
  • the gearshift lever is ordinary, of normal size, it has not been affected by new trends in the form of a joystick or a key/button switch;
  • The material of the dashboard frame is soft rubberized plastic, pleasant to the touch; it is also present on the upper part of the door cards;
  • multimedia system – with an 8 ”display, regardless of the level of equipment, above it there is another small on-board computer screen;
  • the center console has a glossy surface, its sides are trimmed in leather, as is the front armrest cover;
  • steering column adjustment – mechanical for reach/tilt, with fairly large strokes, so any driver can sit comfortably behind the wheel;
  • climate control control – via three rotary knobs, does not look too modern, but very convenient;
  • the box under the armrest cover is quite roomy, it has a 12-volt outlet,
  • 12V power can also be obtained from the plug at the front, under the air conditioner, where in addition there is an AUX port and two USB connectors;
  • the glove box is of medium size, without a microlift, and the inside is lined with hard plastic;
  • sun visors – with closing lids, lighting and additional retractable sections;
  • There is an eyeglass case in the center front of the ceiling trim.

The interior of the Forester 5 is distinguished by a high seating position, which provides good visibility to the driver. The front seats can be called quite comfortable, but their lateral support is not very pronounced.

The second row of seats amazes with a large amount of space not only above the head, but also in the knees, which is even a little strange for the class of compact crossovers.

For rear passengers, air deflectors and two USB ports are provided; all seats are heated as standard.

The rear sofa is also equipped by default with a central armrest with two cup holders, the backrests in top versions can be adjusted in angle (two positions), and there are double pockets on the back of the front seats.

There is a central tunnel on the floor at the back, but it is not too high and wide.

Subaru Forester Sport

The Subaru Forester in the 2.5i-Spt ES configuration is a car with a sporty “character”; in terms of equipment it is comparable to the Elegance, but primarily differs in exterior and interior elements:

  • roof rails and bumpers with orange inserts;
  • radiator grille with black surround;
  • Sport emblem and black trim on the tailgate;
  • the presence of light red stitching in the interior;
  • combined, but more durable than in the basic version, upholstery material for seats and door panels with a water-repellent effect;
  • special dashboard design.

In the sporty Forester package, LED lights are used to illuminate the trunk and rear door; the X-Mode electronic assistant for off-road driving is presented in a two-mode version (Snow/Dirt and DeepSnow/Mud settings are included).

Fog lights with six LEDs each are installed, alloy wheels are darker in color, and larger diameter brake discs are used on the front axle.

It should be noted that the Sport does not have aluminum pedal pads or a navigation system.
