In general, if we consider the main characteristics in detail, we can name a clear favorite only in dynamic indicators and in compliance with environmental standards, but otherwise it will not be possible to identify noticeable differences.

In addition, when comparing these interesting cars, you should not ignore such a point as interior design. In general, the interior decoration looks interesting in its own way in each model. However, if in a Japanese car luxury and increased comfort, as well as quality, are more visible, then in a German crossover the main emphasis is on practicality and ease of use of the car with numerous additions in the form of high-tech innovations, without additional and extraneous decorative elements, which by and large are here would be redundant.
The updated Volkswagen Tiguan received an interesting and pleasant-looking interior, where there was a place not only for high-tech components, but also for the traditional style of the German brand. In fact, the first time you get into a car, you can determine that you are in another Volkswagen car, since everything is thought out to the smallest detail and made conscientiously. The key feature of the SUV is three bright displays, namely, a large-diagonal multimedia touchpad, an air conditioning monitor, and a pleasant dashboard screen.
The interior of the Japanese crossover is more interesting and rich; it is not as practical as in the case of its competitor, but the characteristic quality characteristic of the brand is visible. The interior of the car features a characteristic transition from light to darker shades. What attracts most attention here is the infotainment complex with a large screen made in the form of a tablet. It is also worth highlighting the climate control unit. The latter received a nice display and two control pucks.
Also, when reviewing cars, it is worth talking about the capacity of the luggage compartments. In this regard, there is no significant difference between the crosses, and they are almost the most important favorites in their class. The trunk of the new German crossover can accommodate up to 615 liters of large items and various bulky items. As for the Japanese model, up to 580 liters of various accessories can be placed in the luggage compartment of this car. Also, do not forget that if you wish, you can significantly expand the volume by folding the rear passenger seats. In this case, almost three times more content will fit into the crossovers.

When comparing internal equipment, you can focus on your preferences. The RAV 4 seats are trimmed in leather, and electronics are used to adjust the driver’s seat. Other features include:

- presence of a compartment for storing glasses;
- voice-controlled navigation;
- tilt adjustment and heated rear seats.

In both cases, the car can hardly be called budget. In 2019, the average cost of servicing a Volkswagen Tiguan was 8,500 rubles. Registration of compulsory motor liability insurance will cost about 10,000, and for CASCO you will have to pay about 50 thousand.
The minimum maintenance amount for RAV4 is 8,000. But obtaining an insurance policy is almost 2 times cheaper:
