The 2020 Mercedes C-Class, released in a new body, has all the potential to become a leader in its segment. The German model has not only an attractive appearance, which, judging by the photo, depends on the type of modification chosen, but also “rich” trim levels offered at affordable prices. The technical characteristics of the sedan are no less interesting. And for speed lovers, Mercedes-Benz has prepared 2 “charged” versions of its own model with original external styling.

Avantgarde Edition

The 2020 Mercedes C-Class in its initial version comes with a 150-horsepower engine and an automatic transmission that transmits all traction to the rear axle. For this modification, the manufacturer requests 2.45 million rubles. The specified amount by default includes:

  • self-supporting tires;
  • air suspension;
  • Start/Stop system;
  • 17-inch wheel rims;
  • additional crankcase protection;
  • 7-inch touch monitor (10.25-inch optional);
  • joystick for controlling the multimedia complex;
  • six-speaker audio system;
  • dual-zone separate climate control;
  • electrically adjustable heated exterior mirrors;
  • electronic parking brake;
  • LED optics placed in a circle.

The list of standard equipment includes a multifunctional display on the dashboard, an engine start button, heated washer nozzles, an electric tailgate and front seats, 7 airbags and interior trim elements. For an additional fee, this list can be expanded to include:

  • sports suspension;
  • head-up display;
  • electric sunroof;
  • heated first-row seats with advanced lumbar support;
  • lane and blind spot monitoring systems;
  • automatic valet;
  • collision avoidance systems;
  • driver condition monitoring sensor;
  • drive mode selector.

Options include seats trimmed with genuine leather, a navigation module and a parking camera. And the standard safety package includes several parking sensors, tire pressure monitoring sensors, as well as uphill assistance systems, electronic stabilization control, head optics control and slip prevention.


The Premium package will cost a minimum of 2.69 million rubles. The appearance of a hybrid installation and all-wheel drive is estimated at an additional 280 thousand rubles. This modification differs from the basic one only in the decorative elements present in the cabin.


The sports modification of the 2020 Mercedes-Benz C-Class costs 2.89 million rubles. Along with it is an available hybrid setup, offered for almost the same surcharge. This package offers, in addition to the basic equipment, a sports suspension (replacing the air suspension), heated first-row seats and a collision avoidance system. A proprietary aerodynamic body kit from AMG also comes standard. For an additional fee, you can purchase a combined seat trim.

Changes in the interior of the Mercedes-Benz C Class IV Restyling

The interior has also changed, although most of the innovations will only be seen on expensive sedans. All updates began to be offered as options. So where to look to distinguish restyling:

  • new multifunction steering wheel in the style of “older” models with a slightly beveled lower part in a sporty manner
  • optional fully virtual “tidy” with a diagonal of 12.3 – previously the instrument panel consisted of two dials and a small color screen between them
  • larger multimedia screen with a diagonal of 10 inches (previously 7 or 8.4)
  • less glossy black plastic (only retained in the base Premium trim)
  • wireless charging for smartphones has appeared.


Four modifications of the Mercedes C-Class 2020 power plants will arrive on the domestic market:

  • petrol 1.6-liter engine. The inline four is installed in the C180 version. At the output, the engine produces 150 horsepower and 250 Nm. This car accelerates to hundreds in 8.3 seconds. The maximum speed of the car is 225 km/h. Fuel consumption in mixed mode – 6.5 liters;
  • petrol 1.5-liter turbo engine. Installed in the C200 and C200 4Matic modifications. This type of power unit allows the car to accelerate to hundreds in 8.1 seconds. Rotational thrust is 280 Nm and power is 184 horsepower. The speed limit of the car is 234 km/h. This car consumes 6.9 liters;
  • inline 2.0-liter “four”. Maximum power 258 hp. Maximum thrust – 370 Nm. The “kopeck piece” consumes 6.9 liters in mixed mode. The car can accelerate to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds, and the top speed stopped at 250 km/h;
  • The 3.0-liter “six” is the most powerful and at the same time gluttonous modification. The power unit accelerates to hundreds in 4.7 seconds, while consuming 9.3 liters per 100 km. The maximum speed of such a car is 250 km/h. The engine is installed only in the C-43 4Matic version.

All power units are paired with a 9-G TRONIC 9-band automatic transmission. Cars with 2.0-liter diesel engines will also be supplied to the European market. All modifications are rear-wheel drive, but all-wheel drive can be installed as an additional option. Disc brake system. Moreover, the front brakes are ventilated.

Typical faults of Mercedes-Benz C Class IV Restyling

The C-Class had no serious problems. Restyling did not cause any problems, despite the new engines. There are complaints about wipers on forums and in reviews. For example, according to the rain sensor, both will rise, and one will fall. It’s even rarer to come across stories about beeping and non-functioning parking sensors. A malfunction can be caused by rotten wiring, damaged wire insulation, or the sensor itself, the aluminum casing of which suddenly begins to “bloom.”

The updated C-Class has a lot of electronics that can glitch from time to time. In most cases, proper settings help to deal with climate control, and multimedia errors are most often cured by resetting.
